Glowing with an almost magical radiance, this remarkable carpet is based on a 17th century “Polish” design made at the Persian court manufactory of Kashan. Formerly in an Imperial collection, the original is a museum piece knotted in silk brocade on cotton. Its hexagonal middle panel enclosed by arabesques was executed in twelve colours with a general light tone. While faded by time, its beauty is the inspiration for this resplendent carpet that bathes the room in a luxurious golden light. Its traditional motifs include palmettes, arabesques and cloud bands similar to the original, with floral and geometric details finely figured in olive green and ruby red. Please note the three largest sizes 259x351, 2897x419 and 366x457 are available on demand as special order items only. These larger sizes are supplied from Nourison in the USA with a typical lead time of 4-6 weeks.
