The History -
handlooms, electric power-looms & axminster looms
Brink & Campman first began in 1897, Netherlands, where Cornelis den Brink and Johannes Campman came together and stated a carpet factory to manufacture rugs, made of handlooms in a flat-woven quality. By the 20th century , the design house expanded and time began to revolutionise, and this when electric power-looms were introduced. Finally, after World War II, Van den Brink & Campman began to use Axminster looms.

Types of rugs
Brink & Campman specialise in three different types of rugs; Axminster woven, hand tufted from China and India, and hand knotted from Nepal.
Traditionally woven and expertly crafted, the Axminster-woven rugs are made in the Netherlands. Mostly made from woollen yarns that have various textures and thickness, this collection also features a large number of rugs that are designed with felted or special treated yarns that will minimise shedding, perfect for busy homes.
The hand tufted collection by Brink & Campman is all about the bright, colourful colours, bold designs and hand carved details. From the Estella range made of pure new wool, to the Japanese acrylic pile Xian, the rugs have hand tufted qualities and details, to make different colours stand out within a design.
The Kodari, Everest, and Himali ranges are all hand knotted, and are created according to traditional 'Tibetan highland' knotting methods. The rugs from the Kodari and Everest range are made with a wool blend of 70% New-Zealand wool and 30% Tibetan highland wool.
